ATTENTION: CAUSEWAY CLOSED
The causeway in Packwaukee will be closed to all traffic beginning, Monday, August 28th for construction. Fall construction should be completed by November 16th, so that it will be open for the deer hunting season and Thanksgiving holiday. The current causeway will be expanded by approximately 20 feet and fishing platforms will be added. No traffic will be able to go over the causeway during the construction period and no fishing will be allowed until the project is completed. You will be able to boat under the bridge.
Due to the closure of the causeway, the township has secured a place on the south side of the lake for residents to bring their garbage. All residents, with the proper sticker, can get rid of their garbage and recyclables on the Buffalo Lake P&R property located at W5822 on County Road D just south of the causeway. This location will be open Saturday's, beginning September 9th, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Waste Management will have a dumpster at the site. If you have any questions please contact Al Rosenthal, Chair for the Town of Packwaukee 608-589-5036.
